Malta
Malta has a very rich and long history, and the evidence, from pre-historic times to recent years, is spread across the island. The capital, Valetta is enclosed within a fort and is full of narrow streets and imposing buildings, but across the island can be found prehistoric remains, catacombs, hilltop fortresses and pretty harbours.
Neighbouring Gozo is worth a trip by boat and at certain times of the year there are Festas, when immense firework displays are seen. Malta is a warm, attractive place surrounded by beautiful seas - ideal for a relaxing and interesting stay.
